In this project, a collection of products was designed together with the brand Piel Canela, who specializes in high quality leather goods for office workers, executives and travelers. Working hand in hand with the company, we were able to evolve our proposals from a sketch and 3D models to a real products made with their own materials and quality.
Our team was in charge of designing a picnic basket with enough space for a simple meal for two people, including cutlery and drinks. However, versatility was a key element, so the basket can be used to store other products such as wine, refreshments, snacks, etc.
A Luxurious Escape
The picnic basket is designed for the modern office worker who is looking to reconnect with friends, family or partner after a full work week and wants to escape their monotonous reality for a totally contrasting and different experience to what they are used to, without overexerting themselves and relax.
Therefore, it was ideal to create an object that stores drinks and food in a practical and elevated way to boost her mood and reconnection ritual.
The brand wanted us to design for people who are constantly on the go, considering also a production with a possibility of using cutting molds and minimal use of hardware. The product had to maintain the aesthetics of the brand: luxury, exclusive and reflecting status, and yet timeless and versatile.
